The slipknot is where your crochet journey begins! It’s the very first loop you’ll make on your hook, creating the foundation for all your stitches to come. There are a few different ways to make a slipknot, so take your time experimenting and find the method that feels most natural for you.

Creating a Slipknot

The Classic Loop Method: Form a loop with your yarn, then pull the working end through the loop to create your knot.

🌀 The Twisting Method: Twist the yarn into a loop and pull the working yarn through the loop using your fingers.

🪝 The Hook Method: Lay the yarn over your hook, twist it to form a loop, and pull the working yarn through with the hook itself.

👆 The Finger Method: Wrap the yarn around two fingers, cross the yarn over, and pull the working yarn through the loop to form your slipknot.
